What to do
I'm locked out
If a child or anyone vulnerable is shut inside and at risk, ring 999 first.
Right now
- Stay somewhere safe and warm: a neighbour's, the car, a café nearby.
- Don't force the door or climb in through a window. It usually turns a quick job into a repair.
- If someone else has a key, ring them too, in case they're closer.
What Steve usually does
Gets you back in, usually without damaging the lock, then repairs or changes it only if it needs it.
Have ready when you ring
- The address
- The door: uPVC, wooden or composite
- Something showing you live there, once you're inside
“…called back within 5 minutes, and was at our house in 15 minutes, fixed it in 5 minutes.”
Good to know
I'm locked out right now. What should I do?
Ring 0117 366 0072. Stay somewhere safe and warm, and don't try to force the door or a window: it usually turns a quick job into a repair. Reviewers mention Steve calling back within minutes and arriving within the hour.
My key has snapped in the lock. Can it be fixed?
Usually, yes. Leave the broken piece where it is and don't try another key. The broken key can normally be removed and the door opened, then the lock repaired or changed.
Do you charge to come out?
The Bristol Locksmith offers free quotes and no call-out charge. Steve explains what's needed and the price before starting.
My uPVC door won't lock. Is that a new door?
Rarely. It's usually the mechanism or the door needing adjustment, which can often be repaired the same day.
Which areas do you cover?
Bristol and the towns around it, including Kingswood, Keynsham, Long Ashton, Portishead, Clevedon, Nailsea, Bradley Stoke, Thornbury, Yate and Weston-super-Mare.
Do you work for businesses and landlords?
Yes: offices, shops and rented homes, including lock changes between tenants, keys cut to code and master key systems.
